Corporate Histories

More and more companies, from huge international blue chip corporations to small family-run businesses, are commissioning their own histories.

A corporate history can have many functions.  A special anniversary could occasion the writing of a history – the finished product being presented to valued staff and clients as a ‘thank-you’.

As a marketing and public relations tool, a comprehensive history, beautifully illustrated and documented, can speak volumes.  Clients and investors are always interested in the background of a company, in order to decide whether this is a concern with which they wish to do business.  A company that has its own recorded history is one that will be around for years to come.

As a matter of historical record keeping, corporate biographies are also important in their own right.  Your company may only be 25 years old, but how long will it be before those involved at the beginning have forgotten how it all happened.  How will others learn from their mistakes and successes?  Where will your company be in the next 25 years?

Finally, writing a history of your company is a good and fun thing to do, without any other justification!  You’ve worked hard, you have established and or run a successful concern which has given employment and generated income for others, why not write it down?
